0:01unknown: There you go.

0:03Mitch:Time to make himself burp.

0:07Hayden:You've seen that like uh Xbox party chat where this kid's like telling a bunch of adults like a stupid joke and laughs so hard he makes himself throw up and it just sounds so disgusting.

0:19Yeah in the microphone. They're all like a kid, you okay?

0:24Tom:I mean I can burp whenever I want. My niece, she was like three, and they're just like, oh, Uncle Thomas can burp whenever he wants. She's like climbs and grabs my fish and she's like, Teach me.

0:33Hayden:I did. Hello. And welcome to Entertain This, a podcast about movies, TV shows, and video games. My name is Hayden. With me of Mitch. Hello. In time. Hello. And today we're discussing something other than you know belching. Bodily functions. We're gonna talk about games.

0:50Mitch:I was gonna say knee pain. Yeah.

0:52Hayden:Shoulder pain. Oh no, we can talk about some knee pain. That requires a whole different podcast. We got plenty to talk about. Welcome to What Hurts. What hurts today. Rotary cuff again. But anyways. Before we begin, social media. Mitch.

1:09Mitch:Well, you can go to entertainths.com. Well, no, wait, no, you can't.

1:14Hayden:Yes, you can.

1:14Mitch:Oh, yeah.

1:16Hayden:Entertain this.app. That's right. Yeah.

1:18Mitch:Entertain this.app. I forget. I was in a groove and I was like, oh, that's that's wrong.

1:22Hayden:No, you weren't. You didn't even get out the gate. He fell back to muscle.

1:25Mitch:I was in the old groove. I fell into the rut.

1:30Tom:Oh, Mitchell got his groove back.

1:32Mitch:Anyways, you can go to entertainth.app, which will take you to our Facebook, our X, TikTok, Instagram. Um, if you want to go to the any of those specifically, they're at entertain this underscore. You can go to our YouTube at entertain this59. Uh, but all of it, you know, all of it'll take you to some some form of our social media, which you can find a link to our uh podcast to listen to more episodes, or you can go to Spotify, iTunes, you know, wherever you're at.

1:56Hayden:Yeah, Mitch has been doing a pretty good job with that their social media yarp. I like them reels.

2:02Mitch:It's hard to uh hard to do it all while you're in transit.

2:06Hayden:You know how I I I know that those reels are good, Mitch?

2:08Mitch:Because you hear your voice.

2:10Hayden:No.

2:11Tom:But yes, no, that's part of it hears himself on YouTube. He's like, yeah.

2:16Hayden:I'll go through my algorithm and it'll pop up. And I'm like, you know, what is this? Oh, right.

2:21Tom:Yeah, it happened to me today, and I was like, wait a minute, I know these guys. I'm like, this is interesting. What are they talking? Oh, that's uh I hit like on a video today. They're gonna they're getting a little more crazy. I was the first one to like it.

2:32Mitch:Yeah, the the one we talked about Halo from the last episode, it came up with like 5,000 downloads just since I put it on out today.

2:38Hayden:So is it the one where I talked about smoking my kids? Yes. No, that's the one that I like. I didn't have any. I was the first one. I'm gonna tell my kids they're famous. Famous victims. Famous for losing. Loser. All right. Well, I played a game, Mitch. Did you play a game? I did too. Tom, did you play a game? I did. Look at us. We did homework. Tom, did you play a new game?

2:58Tom:Newish. It's got an update coming out.

3:01Hayden:Just wondering. It's relative.

3:03Tom:And they've already announced a sequel. Okay, okay. A sequel to a sequel. Space Marines 3.

3:08Mitch:Oh, they announced a sequel to mine too.

3:12Hayden:Let's start with Mitch. I haven't heard I haven't heard uh it's a Don Walker thing, right?

3:15Mitch:Right. I I talked about it like a short little bit in the last episode just because I had just started playing it. 30 minutes. Yeah. But in the first episode or last episode, when I talked about it, I had just made it out of like the prologue era of the the video game. So like now there's a lot more to it. It's made by uh was it uh say it says the same devs that made Witcher 3, but they're now they're called Rebel Wolves.

3:40Hayden:They broke off from Cyber uh from CD Project Rid.

3:43Mitch:Yeah, so they they're called Rebel Wolves and they're they're working with Bandai, uh, but they're using Under El Engine 5. And basically this is they say it's like like a Witcher game, where as far as like it's it's an open world RPG where the side quests are actually have their own story to them, basically.

4:02Right.

4:03Mitch:Which and and then also those influence how the story will end as well, which depending on which NBCs the NBCs, NPCs you kill, or you know, how you interact with them that's kind of kind of move forwards ache into the Witcher 3.

4:18Hayden:I mean, there's a lot of just trash side quests like go here, get that, get money, but there is a lot of side quests that do impact core mechanics of the game.

4:27Mitch:Well, like because there's one of them, um, you're I'm as I'm going through there basically you're this kid, I I guess you're probably 18 or 19 in the game, and uh your your family and your your mom and dad, they're under the rule of basically a vampire that took over this valley because you know he he wants everyone to play like a blood tax every every 30 days, like they have like they have to go to the church, and then they everyone has to offer blood to him and like his four or three or four other like coven, I guess.

4:57Hayden:We all gotta pay in some way.

4:59Mitch:Posse basically he he keeps everyone safe in the valley, you know. The vampire does he'll offer their his blood to help keep them from getting sick because this is takes place during the 14th century around the same time as like the black plague and all that.

5:12Hayden:Why is it always blood? I can't be like a hair follicle or something like that.

5:16Mitch:That's not part of the myth.

5:17Hayden:I know, but I mean it's always gross stuff.

5:19Tom:It could be like facial hair. Yeah. It's like some guy with a great beard after like 30 days of like go in and the fart in the general area.

5:26Hayden:Yeah. You're cured of all your ailments.

5:30Tom:But you know what? I think I'd rather have the ailment. Give me bubonic plug.

5:36Mitch:I can tank it. But uh the game is made off of like a$40 million budget, which they there's been a lot of talk about how if this game's that good off of$40 million, why are we paying these triple A games like hundred millions of dollars?

5:47Hayden:Okay, I have theories. Would you like to hear those theories?

5:50Tom:Does this have a multiplayer?

5:52Mitch:Not yet. There has been rumor that they might try to do that, but so far no.

5:56Tom:So I think some of that money probably goes into massive GTA 6.

6:00Mitch:It's not gonna be multiplayer.

6:02Hayden:Yeah, no, I think that I think that single player games warrant full price if they give you you know 45 to 60 hours of gameplay. So uh my game, which I'll talk about later, is uh short game. You can beat in like 20, 30 minutes, and I mean I think it's like 20 bucks base, uh, but I got it on Game Pass. Regardless, what I am trying to argue is that I think that this game was made for first off, it's this company's first game, so they're gonna lowball to try and garner interest.

6:34Mitch:Yeah.

6:35Hayden:And two, I think that they probably used AI.

6:39Mitch:They did well, they admit that they did on some like the voices and stuff.

6:41Hayden:Yes. So I uh everybody poo-poos on AI as you're taking jobs and all this other stuff. Well, at some point a small team of people gotta crank out a product that that that can put food on their table. So I don't look at AI like it's taking jobs away. I think I think that in some of these you know, game development companies, if they're using it responsibly, AI enables more people to make more games. So there will always be jobs for people. It's just now there's more projects out there.

7:11Mitch:And while, you know, AI, yeah, it you know, it's some of it's good, some of it's bad. The way, you know, the way it looks, the way it sounds, and stuff. But like, you know, granted, I'm no perfect, you know, user of AI, but it helps me do all the social media stuff that you know that I don't have time to sit down and do.

7:27Hayden:I thought that was all you, Mitch.

7:28Mitch:Well, you know, the decisions are mine. Yeah, that helps.

7:32Tom:I decide whether or not I listen to Chat GPT.

7:35Mitch:A little bit of the editing, you know, helps out. But I mean, you know, it's because like if somebody's you know, they want you to pay a hundred grand to use their voice, it's like, well, I can just make my own voice and it not cost me because you can't afford a hundred grand.

7:48Hayden:That's for a smaller company.

7:50Tom:For a smaller company, yes, but for some things, great voice acting is still you you can't AI it.

7:56Mitch:Now great, you you're correct. It's just but you know, at some point you have to look. It's like, well, like you were saying, if this isn't a big to-do company, then they got they gotta use what they can use.

8:05Hayden:Yeah, they're double-A. So um I I I do think that like at some point the best you can get is simulated art out of AI. There's a lot of things like acting. I all these actors that are terrified that I mean, have you seen some of the more recent, like uh what is it, Astro V Chat GPT video production where like the guy's like, put me on a dragon and make me like say the Gayseburger dress and stuff like that. And it looks pretty realistic, but the way the dude enunciates and his like uh his mouth movements, you know, AI mouth movements where they over like overact their jaws and stuff like that.

8:45Four score and seven years.

8:47Hayden:Yeah, you're just like it just doesn't seem right. And that you know immediately it's AI and it takes you out of it. Yeah. So on the flip side though, there's a lot of people. Uh this is totally off topic, but there's a lot of commercials and stuff. I think they're doing live action recordings, but they're making it look like AI just to get controversy or traction, which is a weird, weird take on all this now.

9:11Tom:I'm not a huge fan of AI, but I am a diehard fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger singing songs for AI. Like when I said the Jurassic Park one.

9:21Hayden:Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think there's two kinds of people out there. There's people who use AI and there's people who lie. So I I think it's used in everything. And uh as long as you use it responsibly, like if if you make a product and you can talk about it and you understand like the inner workings and how everything happened, all it did was just crunch numbers for you. It was a glorified calculator and your process, okay. But if it's like, you know, hey, Chat GPT, make me a video game. Send.

9:51Mitch:True, true.

9:53Tom:Yeah, that's a little that's a little much if they're doing that. Yeah.

9:56Mitch:Anyways, back to Blood of the Dawn Walker. Um, it has like a 30-day cycle, it's what they said, you know, because you know, 30 days for the story, you have to have either save your family or they're gonna die.

10:07Tom:If this next kill them at the beginning, no, the the mom dies at the beginning.

10:12Mitch:And let I well, at least at least in mine, I don't know if there's a way you could save her or not, because there, I mean, you make so many decisions before.

10:19Hayden:Did she die in a cutscene or did she die in gameplay?

10:21Mitch:She dies in a cutscene, but there's a lot of decisions that you have to make before that. So I don't know because like you have to give her some kind of medicine and I don't and you have to remember the ingredients they tell you.

10:30Tom:Let's ask Chat GPT.

10:31Mitch:So I I don't know.

10:33Tom:Or was this like a hidden branded move, just like kill the NPC?

10:36Mitch:I don't know if she dies already, or if they just get if there's a possibility that they all just get captured because the rest of your family gets captured. Yeah. Uh then your you know your dad takes you to the uh the silver mine. That the that's the whole reason this uh vampire took over the place, because he didn't want anybody else to have access to it. So he takes you to the silver mine to try and get some silver so you can try and make some swords and things like that out of it. Then the uh the vampire Brincess finds out and basically storms in, punches you in the chest, and like basically kills you and uh turns you. And then as you wake up in the mine, you come out and you'll find your dad as he's like holding him, forcing him to

11:11Mitch:watch this the uh town burn. Yeah. And you he uh Brincess goes to bite you just because he's gonna kill you because you're not uh gonna like just serve him.

11:20Hayden:It's pretty uh graphic. Yeah. And I heard that the uh the sensual scenes are that too quite quite over the top. I'll get to that. But uh Mitch's favorite part.

11:32Mitch:But like he goes to bite you, and that's when you find out you're different than any normal vampire. You're you're your blade. Oh, he's oh negative. Ah, got me. But uh allergic. It's it's basically like he bites you and then it's like it like burns him because your blood's different, because the whole premise of the game is during the day you're a human basically, and at night you turn into a vampire. Which it's pretty cool because it completely makes the game drastically different in the way you play from day to night, once you start leveling up your abilities.

12:03Tom:So in the daytime you're Morty and at night you're Rick Sanchez.

12:07Mitch:Uh I mean, not not to that degree.

12:10Tom:It's not that bad where like during the day you're like, oh geez, oh no, and then at night you're like, woo!

12:14Mitch:No, I mean, because like during the day I'm going in, I'm fighting with my sword and stuff, but it you know, I have to make sure I block or not, or it's a lot easier to get killed. But you know, when I go in at night, I have these some of these abilities where I have an ability to where the more they hit me, like uh I've leveled it up enough to where I actually heal if I if I block. So if they hit me and I block, I automatically start healing. And if I cut them and draw blood, I start I start healing. So as a vampire, I just go through and just like ravage everything. I can teleport behind them, bite them, and like you know, kill them that way. I there's a lot of things I can do. I even have a I even have like some kind of magic ability

12:48Mitch:because there's there's three skill trees. You have magic, sword plate, and vampire. Where like for the magic, I haven't leveled up a whole lot of that, but there's like there's one where like he'll cut his hand and then basically he points his hand at you, and then just basically you catch on fire for uh and like slightly burn for a few minutes.

13:06Hayden:Ow. Slightly burning me.

13:08Mitch:Well, it's it's like you you're it's almost like uh what do you call it in Pokemon when they're like they're burned from Ember or whatever?

13:13Tom:And then like you get the little Yeah.

13:15Mitch:Basically they're like as you're fighting them, as long as that's still affecting them, though every now and then they'll kind of stagger when you you know they go to hit you or something.

13:22Hmm stings.

13:24Mitch:And then have you beaten this game? I have not. I'm only 44% done, and I've played it for about 15 hours.

13:29Hayden:Well, okay. When's the last time you beat a single player game?

13:34Tom:Uh well, we played Halo. That doesn't count. No, uh Elden Ring might be our last one.

13:39Mitch:Uh let's see there.

13:40Hayden:Because you start a lot of games and never beat them.

13:42Mitch:Well, because most of the time I only play multiplayer stuff.

13:45Hayden:No, you got that the the stupid uh the AI game from Koreo and the Oh Crimson Desert? Yeah, you got that one.

13:52Mitch:I got lost in that one because it it's so big.

13:54Hayden:There's you got the Wolverine game.

13:56Mitch:I haven't played it yet.

13:57Hayden:You you started it.

13:58Mitch:No, I haven't even I haven't even turned it on yet. I've been playing this.

14:01Hayden:Okay.

14:01Mitch:Uh, but I do want to play Wolverine when I get done with this one. But like the yeah, the Crimson Desert, that game's just so big, I I don't even know where to go. It's it's just too much too much going on. There is, but it's it's like you know, scrolling down an infinite scroll screen. It just keeps going because now you can you can build things, you can you know have communities, it's it's just too much.

14:23Tom:But um too much for Mitch brain.

14:25Mitch:Anyways, in this one, like uh I I found there was a quest.

14:31Hayden:Oh, yeah. I have a funny story about that, but go ahead, Mitch.

14:34Mitch:Uh I found a uh like a certain quest where you have to find certain like pieces of a sword. So I've built that and then I I actually took that sword that's made out of silver, took it to a swordsmith that's like special I found in the woods, and then she can put it back together. Well then she's like, Oh, it's almost complete, and you're like, what do you mean? It's it's here.

14:52Tom:Like I'm looking at it.

14:54Mitch:Then you can actually go to there's a a certain mountain that this specific sword you have to pretty much it's like you have to defeat it. It was almost like 50 enemies that just they just keep spawning until you drain the whole health bar. And then once you do that, it's like it's a magic silver sword. But it hurts.

15:10Does it hurt you?

15:11Mitch:No. Huh. As long as you're not getting cut by it.

15:14Because you're a daywalker. Yeah.

15:16Mitch:Okay.

15:16Uh yeah. But um at night.

15:19Mitch:There there are some like really like epic views. Like like you can climb up to the top of like some cathedrals, and then you can basically it's almost like Assassin's Creed when you climb up, you can you can see more of the valley. But like, I mean, just the view of like because you're standing on top of this cathedral looking at the Carpathian mountains and just trees and you know. Nah, you're in Transylvania.

15:38Tom:It's really cool. I knew we were gonna get there. It's like, oh, the Carpathians, uh Transylvania. Dracula's the villain, isn't he?

15:44Mitch:No, no, it's Brentus, and he's like a Roman soldier. And then you actually I actually found out who his creator was, killed that guy, took his armor. Because he was actually stoned, like stoned up behind a wall, like bricked in.

15:58Hayden:Do they mention like it's in our world, it's an earth? Yeah. Okay, so Dracula is is he mentioned?

16:03Mitch:I mean, there's no there's no mention of Dracula.

16:06Tom:But there is supposed to be a sea He was just in the woods.

16:08Mitch:There's supposed to be two sequels. One what will jump forward a certain amount of time, and then the other the last one will be modern day.

16:14Hayden:Blood of the Don Walker 2077.

16:16Mitch:Like there's some people that have already uh beaten the game, and there's a cutscene at the end where it is modern day, but I didn't watch the whole thing because I don't want to spoil it. Okay, what when does this take place? This takes place in the 14th century.

16:26Tom:Alright, so I don't think Dracula was actually born yet. I think he was in the 15th century.

16:33Hayden:15th. I don't know. There's a I mean like if you go off a Stoker.

16:39Mitch:So and I will say when you're playing this, the combat is really cool because like you can fight and you can actually you can just keep keep pressing the sword, swing, and he'll keep swinging, but you can actually direct you know whether you want to attack from the uh uh above, below, left, right, and he'll just swing the sword in different uh angles. And if you swing it in the same angle, it'll keep doing the same damage, but if you kind of combo different hits, the damage will keep increasing for a certain amount of time. And then uh whenever you have to block, it'll give you like a small indicator just before they strike. Yeah, it's kind of like Elden Ring, where you got a parry.

17:09Tom:It sounds like Kingdom Come Deliverance.

17:12Mitch:They said it is a lot like that when I was reading.

17:14Tom:Yeah, I need to get back and play that game.

17:16Hayden:It's free on Game Pass.

17:17Mitch:I already have it.

17:19Tom:Yeah. Unfortunately, the game does have some jump scares because like you'll be playing, and when you come across like a certain magic area, or you unlock a magic book that tell teaches you how to do a certain skill or something, like you'll be playing along and you'll just open this book and all of a sudden it's like and just all sorts of nonsense of like red and black and is it like that crap in uh the first Harry Potter movie where he's in the restricted section and he flips open the book and like the face like comes out and screams, he's like, essentially, and he's like close.

17:50Mitch:Well, because it like you'll have like a red and black screen and it'll like show you images of like a forest, and all of a sudden there's like this witch like screaming. Yeah, it's like oh okay. But then like it does it when you open manuals, and then when you just happen to wander into certain areas, it'll do that. But it's it's really cool because there's a lot of areas that you can go and just explore that really don't have a whole lot of tie to the actual story. It's just uh like a almost like in Assassin's Creed, it's just like a uh historical area that has special gear or whatever. And then the time like the 30-day timer doesn't just run while you're playing. When you do certain key events, or if you find certain gear

18:34Mitch:that's like legendary, it'll take like one tick of the bar.

18:37Tom:You know, when you do main quest.

18:40Mitch:Right. When you do main quest or find like really high value items, essentially it drains the bar. And I want to say each day it has it's either six or eight bars of time, and then each night has six or eight bars of time. And then you know, I'm I think I have 18 days left to save my family, but I'm level 30 something now with all this cool armor. I'm feeling confident.

19:02Tom:Good to go.

19:02Mitch:I and I actually found not confident enough, Mitch.

19:05Tom:You need to find the cheese.

19:06Mitch:I well, I kind of did because technically there's like an infamy rating. So like as you do things, the the villains, if you do stuff in their area, they'll start searching for you or they'll send people for you. Well, I was doing one quest and I just happened, I you know, I went into uh to the big cathedral looking for this item that I'd seen somebody talk about on uh YouTube and they said it's you know it's in this building, so I went looking. And while I was in there, one of the main like uh vampires that you have to kill, not not the head guy, but the one of the female ones is part of him, she was in there like talking to her soldiers or whatever. Well, I fell from the rafters and I got to I fought all her

19:43Mitch:people and then killed her without even having to like aggro her in the in the realm or whatever, which is kind of cool. So that that cut one person out that I didn't even have to waste time trying to get.

19:54Hayden:So you gave me the system.

19:55Mitch:I I kind of did, yeah.

19:57Nice.

19:57Mitch:Which and another thing is cool, is like if you are good, it's like the parrying combat and stuff, you can supposedly you can even beat the main boss in the very first encounter if you're good enough. It just it would kind of like in Elden Ring, it would take a lot of work to to will it down.

20:11Hayden:Level one, no armor, yeah, yeah, with a dagger, rusty dagger.

20:15Mitch:Because like when I beat this one, it said, you know, with my current stuff, I probably shouldn't try and go after it because it would be difficult. And then I have other ones that would say it's uh the other two guys right now say like not likely and would wouldn't recommend going after it. Not yet, not yet. But uh, you know, I beat this one, so and then it gives you some choices, and supposedly the choices that you make in this game will carry over somehow to the sequel as well. Okay, which is kind of cool. They said it that reflects uh Mass Effect sum.

20:43Hayden:Yeah, yeah. So well, so Mass Effect, the first game came out on the original Xbox. I think the next two came out on 360, it was either the second one or the or only the third one came out on 360. But if you hadn't played or you couldn't find a way to import your data from the previous games, you could do uh like a like a survey to like get the plot. What did you do? Yeah, so it's kind of lame, but yeah, I I don't I figured out how to import all my data.

21:13Mitch:And uh for this game, they announced that in October they're gonna unlock or they're gonna do a patch where it does allow you to do new game plus and it adds it, they're gonna add another difficulty. I don't know if it's easier or harder. Uh but that I haven't looked into that part, but it'll be harder. I said the new game plus will be added, and then uh going back to what you were talking about, the the certain scenes they surprised me. Yeah, like you know, normally you'll get to a very uh sensual graphic scene and it just fades to black. Well, like it didn't do that. Like full, full, full frontal nudity. The problem I wasn't expecting is like as this scene starts happening, my wife and kids are coming in the garage.

21:53Mitch:I'm trying to figure out how to turn the screen. How do I skip? How do I skip it? I don't need my four and eight year old seeing what's going on in the screen. And he went on, oh what? So I was like, oh. Yeah. And then I wake up the next, like the my character wakes up the next day.

22:08Tom:Mitch wakes up the next day laying on the floor in a pool of his dried blood.

22:11Mitch:Well my my character wakes up after being being with one of the other characters. He's just like laying there in a loincloth. I'm like, please tell me she didn't steal all my stuff.

22:20Did she?

22:20Mitch:No. Luckily. Like once it got out of the cutscene. He was back in his normal gear, like, thank God. I just got all this cool stuff.

22:28Hayden:Well, interesting.

22:29Mitch:It is a lot of fun game. I th I think you would like it if you liked The Witcher.

22:32Hayden:I do. I like The Witcher so much that I re-installed it.

22:37Mitch:Did is it you play replayed it or was there a remaster?

22:40Hayden:I just got the remaster. So CD Project Red did something pretty cool. They did The Witcher 3 with modern graphics, like for Xbox One and PlayStation 5 graphics.

22:51Tom:Are they pulling like an Elder Scrolls, like just keep re-releasing Skyrim?

22:55Hayden:But they so they they did the graphics, they improved the combat system, they improved the inventory system, they added a new difficulty mode and gameplay plus mode, and they included all the DLCs for free.

23:08Yeah.

23:08Tom:Cool. I have it for the Switch.

23:12Hayden:Yeah, you can get it for the Switch 2 if you I've had it downloaded on the Switch 1.

23:16Tom:So I played it a little bit. I just can't I just couldn't get into the Witcher game.

23:20Hayden:I I I dig it. It is it's intricate. It's over inundated with a stuff to do. Like you have this thing called Witcher Mode where you like turn on your Witcher sense and like everything lights up, and you're like, I can collect that. There's a guy over there. You know, what's this quest item over there?

23:38Mitch:That's what the Dawnwalker game had that too. Like you can hold down the left trigger or or left bumper and it'll kind of like highlight the stuff that you can loot or stuff you can interact with.

23:47Hayden:It's like the opposite of this Wolverine game, apparently. So with bumper rails. Yeah.

23:53Tom:But uh here's what you want to do, go get it. There it is. It's the only thing you can see. Touch it.

23:58Hayden:I've only played like an hour of it. Um I just decided to start over again and uh because I hadn't played in five, six years, you know, so I I don't remember. I have to relearn the mechanics, the combat mechanics, and all that stuff. I really like enjoyed the story. I remember the story was amazing, and uh but the graphics they're quote unquote updated, but uh it still looks like an Xbox One game. Um I mean, like the the robotic mouth movements when they're talking and you know, the awkward animations. Some of some of the physics work out a lot better, but yeah. So anyways, that's not the game that I'm reviewing. Oh, okay, okay. No. The game that I am reviewing is Plague Tale.

24:43Tom:Plague?

24:44Hayden:Yes.

24:45Mitch:Didn't you play that one before?

24:46Hayden:Yes, but there's a new one that came out. It's called Resonance. And it's a it's a legacy game, it's technically a prequel game to the Plague Tale games. The Plague Tale games were about uh two uh a uh older sister that you play as, and then a little brother as you like survive. I don't know, like I think it's like the 1600s France during like the Black Plague, and then it gets out of control. There's like an ocean of rats that try and kill everybody, and you're trying to get through like a civil war.

25:14Mitch:So you did the Pied Piper. unknown: Yeah.

25:17Hayden:So uh I'm sorry, that was this is uh that was in the 1300s France. This is in this takes place 15 years before the first game. Um the combat mechanics are heavily improved, obviously. Like because this is a sword game, you know, and you get swords and you get items and stuff that increase your abilities and whatnot. Um the there's no rats, there's a new enemy that it's a single entity, but it can like get everywhere. It's it's tough to explain without spoiling a lot of stuff. It's a weird game. Okay, you're essentially like this girl who's a pirate, and she's actually in the two prequel games that you know everybody knows that from the Plague Tale games. Um she's like in her thirties, but in this one she's like in

26:06Hayden:her late teens, early twenties, and uh she is on a quest to find some thing uh on an island where like the king Theseus was. So it kind of does like a little bit of an Assassin's Creed vibe where you're doing your story, you have all the stuff that's going on in what quote unquote, you know, real time and then you have flashbacks to like the Roman era. I guess it would be the Greek era, Theseus, right? I don't know, Tom's not paying attention. I think so. So it's all the same. I think that's Greek. Yeah, and uh, you know, how all that like that lore and stuff extrapolates, and you know so it's kind of cool because like you're living through these illusions, seeing how like this uh island where Datalist has created all these like crazy

26:53Hayden:contraptions and stuff like that, um, and then you snap to reality and everything is broken and dysfunctional. And so like how you navigated it in that world versus quote unquote you know, the the today, which is the 1300s, um everything's broken and defunct, and you have to find a way to navigate it a different way. Um like I said, the mechanic the the the combat mechanics are really good. It was a really long game. Uh I I think it was only like 30 hours at most, maybe even less from what I played. Um and a lot of the stuff that you do, you have to keep redoing it in a different area. So the thing that you're hiding from, I don't know if it's a spoiler or not, but it's this like weird monster thing.

27:40Hayden:It's it's it's supposed to be the Minotaur from Theseus' legend, the the min Minos. Yeah. And um he more or less like is like this weird, kind of looks like a leech that can just grow through darkness. It can't touch sunlight. Um and then a pretty cool stealth mechanic, like the way the game works is when you're in this darkness, it has all this like uh dust in it. The more you move, you stir up the dust and it illuminates, and that's how that thing senses you through the illuminated dust, and it's just like it moved quietly into luminous dust. Or you run for your life and you find ways to like throw it off your trail, so to speak. Um meanwhile you're fighting guards and stuff and things that

28:26Hayden:are trying to kill you. And uh it's it's pretty linear on how that stuff works. It kind of scratches that whole like treasure hunt vibe where you can solve small puzzles to get cool things. Do they really play out better? Like, is the loot worth it? Besides collecting it, eh. I mean, some stuff does to things, some of it doesn't. Um for the most part, it was just kind of an interesting story. And then when it ends, it it ends, and you're like, okay, all of that to you know, I knew this character was gonna make it anyways, because they're she's in the first two games, which take place in the future. So yeah, it was it was a fun experience. I'm glad I played it. I did beat it. I uninstalled it as soon as I was done.

29:10Hayden:I could have done more and stuff, but I didn't really care.

29:12Mitch:So it's not something you want to go back and do again?

29:14Hayden:Uh yeah, it it was a fun one-time play. That's kind of how all the games are. This the story and the the like the you know, the acting or whatever that the lore is interesting. Um, but I'm happy to forget about it until the next game comes out. And they're free on Game Pass, so you can't beat that. And um yeah, that's that's kind of it. I I give it a a seven out of ten. I feel like it was really repetitive and how like the action stealth story, like these three little sequences happen. There's a lot of little puzzles and stuff that happened there too, so maybe action stealth story puzzle and just kind of rinse and repeat that over and over again. And you're like, okay, I'm getting close to the end.

29:58Hayden:Nope. This chapter you're doing the exact same thing. Wrong. So it it was a lot of monotonous uh rinse and repeat of those mechanics over and over again. But yeah, it's I think seven out of ten is pretty good. It's not a bad game, it's just yeah. So there you go. You want to hear a funny AI story about video games? Sure, sure. So this dude had uh I think he's the newest chap GPT, he had it play Minecraft and told it to beat Minecraft. I think he streamed it, I don't remember. But anyways, so Astra, I think it's what it's called, is tried to uh it was farming and getting resources, and I guess you gotta kill monsters to get things to go to the next realm to kill the dragon, which is the end. Right.

30:42Hayden:Well it put all of its stuff into a chest as it was farming resources, and it didn't see this creeper that came in and blew up its chest and deleted all of its stuff. And I guess the AI got so depressed that it lost its progress, it just farmed potatoes for like 12 hours and just it gave up.

31:00Tom:It's just like there's no point now, right?

31:02Hayden:Like it's it's like how a real human, like one of us would react like, oh well, I I think because that was its like its whole existence was Minecraft, and then when it failed, it just gave up. I no longer have purpose. And it was like the stuff it was saying, because it started saying, like, you know, things of like notes like how to learn from this, like uh creepers are sneak up on you, whatever. Think of better defenses, don't keep everything in one box. And after a while, it was just like stupid, stupid, stupid, like like like hitting itself. It's what it's like.

31:37Mitch:Are they supposed to have emotion?

31:39Hayden:I don't know. It it just like fell apart, and then everybody was like, Oh, this is kind of sad. I dream of electronic sheep.

31:46Mitch:Yeah, you've made these ants realize they're in the ant box.

31:50Hayden:Yeah. All right, there you go. Tom, what'd you play?

31:53Mitch:Well, real quick before you get started, uh there was one more thing about the Blood Walker I remembered uh, or the Dawn Walker, is that um I kind of mentioned this before, but at night when you're the vampire, when you go to talk to NPCs, or even if it's like important ones, you can accidentally kill them. Because if you haven't kept your blood.

32:12Tom:Did you pull a hidden bread?

32:13Mitch:I didn't I have not so far, but I have seen videos of other people where like if you don't keep your your blood basically your health full, like if you frighten somebody and then you go in with like just a sliver of health to go talk to somebody. Pretty much like I was watching one guy, he was he had like five choices of what to say. Well, five choices of what to say, and they were kind of like he was talking, they were kind of like wavering, and every now and then he would see one flash like give in to hunger.

32:38Yeah.

32:38Mitch:And he was like, he was like, What? So he he waited, he was kind of going through different choices, looking through them, and then all of a sudden everything disappeared and just left giving to hunger. He just ripped the throat out of one of the main characters, throw it away. Oh well, all those quests are gone.

32:54Hayden:Oh no. That's interesting.

32:56Mitch:Yeah, it's pretty cool just because like it all it actually depends on you know how much health you have when you go to speak to these people, and it can dramatically alter what you can do.

33:06Tom:Oops, shouldn't have done that. Why is he licking his teeth while he's talking to me?

33:12Mitch:Like in the video, he he's talking to one of the main characters and he's like, You must run! And then he just like takes off after her, run before I kill again. But yeah, I thought that was kind of funny.

33:28Tom:Hayden. When'd you play? I hopped back on and played Space Marines 2. Look at that.

33:34Hayden:It's not Call of Duty, he did it.

33:36Mitch:Just another shooter for the Emperor.

33:39Hayden:It's an it's an awesome shooter. The the multiplayer It is fun. The multiplayer left a little to the desire. It got they've been they've been doing a lot with it. It got pretty repetitive from what I remember.

33:50Mitch:The story was kind of repetitive as well. Yeah, the story was awesome.

33:53Tom:I mean, the story was good, but I'm not like the gameplay for the story was the story's awesome, and you're like holding the standard for like the ultramarines, and like they're all pouring in, and it's just like pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow. You know, everybody's fighting to death, and then Kalgar shows up and this was a$40 game, wasn't it?

34:07Hayden:It was so I mean it feels like a$40 game.

34:11Tom:It's it's like a well-spent$40. Sure. Like I like every cent I feel like went into my entertainment.

34:17Hayden:I would be mad if it was a$60 game.

34:20Tom:So they've added I mean, I like when the game came out, they put out like their what their two-year map of all the downloads, content releases, what they were gonna add, like what like and they've been hitting the mark every time.

34:32Good.

34:33Tom:And each time they do an update, there's a patch, you know, like hey, we fixed this, you know, we know we got it. Right. It's it's good. The campaign, I mean, I think the campaign's awesome. I mean, I did not care or know about Warhammer at all, other than it was just tiny figurines that are difficult to paint and cost a lot of money.

34:50Hayden:I've actually read uh two or three books from the series, and I still have no idea like the lore.

34:57Tom:I get that like Forest dived hardcore into the lore after playing the game because it I was like the meme where it's like your first day of playing Warhammer. Oh yeah, I'm gonna play this new shooter. The next day I'm like, be no chest pump me up for the emperor.

35:10Mitch:Well, I like I when we first started playing it originally, I started looking into like the Black Templar lore, and then I looked and I was like, there's all this other stuff. It's like I don't have time to learn to learn all this.

35:23Tom:That the Black Templars were a cast off of the Imperial Fist founded by Sigismund.

35:27Mitch:It's just there was more than there is for like Tolkien.

35:29Hayden:Yeah, it's like it's in in canon, there's like like a hundred of some odd books. There's there's just no and like you can't even get the books.

35:37Mitch:I just I just don't have the time to research them.

35:39Tom:I'm sure you could like Games Workshop, like the price for some of these things. Like some new book came out, and I think it crashed a website because all the all of it got ordered in like three seconds.

35:48Hayden:But they're also retconning a lot of stuff too. Yeah.

35:51Tom:Which is yeah, they've got they've gone back and forth on a bit. So they still haven't gone back and forth on like really the Horus Heresy, but I mean that's like the main through line for all of it. Yeah. So whatever the Emperor isn't the Emperor supposed to come back? I don't know how it's all they don't know what they're gonna do. Okay. He's still stuck on the golden throne, like he has been the last 10,000. The golden throne. He's like a corpse that they just the corpse emperor. Yeah. So basically, if he dies, the astronomicon goes and humans can't travel through the warp. If he dies, he dies. He dies, but he's also a perpetual, so he should technically be immortal.

36:26Hayden:He gets reincarnated. Yeah, so uh it's it's convoluted stuff. I listen I I read the um Eisen the Eisens flight of the Eisenstein?

36:36Tom:No, the Eisenhorn one because I I This is the one about the Death Guard that reaches Terror to tell them Horace turned traitor?

36:45Hayden:No. So Eisenhorn was like an Inquisitor and he basically went against the Inquisition because they were corrupted or something like that. So yeah. Uh a lot of people speculate that's the show that Henry Cavill's gonna do is the Eisenhorn trilogy.

37:00Tom:Because apparently from Space Marine the One at the end, when you get accused of heresy and chaos corruption, the Inquisitor shows up like Ashley was like an agent of chaos. Yeah. They do do that. They do do do that. They they did it in that. But they've added a new class, the Tech Marine class.

37:20Oh yeah.

37:20Tom:So you have primary, secondary, uh awesome melee weapon and grenades. I haven't played it that one yet, because I'm still trying to level up the bulwark. Uh they added the chainsaw sword uh chain axes to that class that I saw, which I used. They used pretty awesome, pretty awesome. Do they have any new projectile weapons? They've had they've added a lot of stuff since I've been on there.

37:46Hayden:I guess I'll have to.

37:47Tom:I mean, I'll download it. I downloaded a lot of the DLCs for like chapters with like all the second founding stuff. Oh, you got it, Mitch?

37:54Mitch:I did, but like I said, I have to start at the beginning because I had to download it on PlayStation.

37:57Tom:Like all the loyalist chapters, they've added expansion packs for up to the um Iron Hands.

38:05Is that the co-op stuff?

38:06Tom:Yeah. Oh, okay.

38:07Hayden:And then they're coming out with like the new heretic. The co-op stuff like was weird because I remember we were playing, or or I don't know if I was playing with you guys or not, but like you you get to a level where they're like there's a train and a horde of whatever they are come at you and you kill them all, and the level ends, and that's it. And you're like, what? And then you you've come to find out they're gonna release you know more missions later on.

38:31Tom:Okay, uh the operations.

38:32Hayden:Yeah.

38:33Tom:So they're up to 13 of them now. Oh, okay. Yeah, well, they had like six, I think, when they first came out. Yeah. And now, or I think I don't even think they had six when the game.

38:44Hayden:I think it might have been like four. And and you you complete the more challenging, like the difficulty and stuff that you set it to, the more currency you get to get more cosmetics. Is that how it works?

38:56Tom:Yes. So if you win a match, you get unlocks for that class, whatever's next in the line for whatever levels you hit. You unlock. If you lose, you know, you don't get nothing except like the little points to right. And you don't get all the points to you know, just buy stuff.

39:12Hayden:Yeah. I like that stealth sniper class, that was fun. I know you I know you enjoy it.

39:18Tom:But I mean they have a whole bunch of different ones that have the horde mode, and they added difficulties. So you have like a normal and a hard one. Right. And I'm sure I'm guessing hard mode, you get way more cooler stuff.

39:28Hayden:And you do get like um abilities, like or something that can help buff your because each classes have like their own little specialty things, like skill tree or whatever.

39:38Tom:Like if you're a bulwark, you plant the flag and it immediately reforms all the shields. Tactical has like the off-spec scan, guys at the grappling hook or the jetpacks. Yeah, yeah.

39:48Mitch:The sniper can turn invisible, yeah, for a short, like a short amount of time.

39:52Tom:And they I think once you start getting hit, you immediately snap too. Because they're adding a new patch which comes out tomorrow on October 1st. Oh, so you get a chaos siege mode, so you can play as the heretic starties and call the tyranny swarm while also facing imperial forces and space marines.

40:11Hayden:Yeah, the the heretics were lacking uh a lot on theirs.

40:15Tom:They haven't added any of the other chapters because I think there's only six of the heretic chapters. Okay. Like the Iron Warriors, the world eaters, they haven't added the Thousand Sons, they haven't added the Emperor's Children.

40:24Right.

40:25Tom:You can get the Emperor's Children heraldry and colors through other stuff. And you basically just do it, but they don't, it's not set in its own little like wheel. Okay.

40:38Hayden:I don't know. I mean, I I'd I'd play again. It's been a while. So I'd yeah, I mean, I'll give it a shot.

40:43Mitch:I'd check back.

40:43Tom:Uh crucible additional challenges for endgame players through penances that apply personal debuffs, gain enough XP to unlock the Lamentor's armor set for each class. One-handed Thunder Hammer.

40:55Hayden:How much of this stuff requires money to unlock?

40:59Tom:As far as I know, none. Except um the DLC packs for that's it's like pretty much all cosmetic stuff. If you want to do like the uh because I think when we got when I got the game, if you paid like 50 bucks, you got like the first two years worth of like DLCs for free. Okay. Because I have everything up to the Imperial Fists. unknown: Oh, okay.

41:21Mitch:I don't even remember what I had some stuff when I had it on Xbox, but uh now that I've had down a little place.

41:26Tom:Because I I went through like customization, like you know, what are the new and it's like it used to be like four helmets or something. It's like you could have this guy's face, this guy's face, this guy's face, you know, blank pretty much space marine helmet. Here's one with a thing on the forehead, here's one with like the broom bristles. Here's a bigger broom bristle, here's one with the broom bristle and the laurels of victory. It's like, yeah, it's like that guy's maxed out. Now it's like you just keep scrolling because they have all kinds of like you get your dude can look awesome because there were some dudes I played against in PvP. They have like bodies dangling off of that. Yeah, like some guys looked really, really cool.

42:01Tom:I think they added the uh Blood Angels Champions pack, and it's kind of like you have like the angelic face with like the teardrop or blood drop like ruby like encrusted into the golden fit faceplate. Yeah, okay, and like this like spiky thing. Like you suppose why it gets kind of looked like Dante, okay, which is pretty cool. Three new heroic weapons, one-handed thunder hammer, which I definitely want to use. So you get a power axe, the frost axe for balance, one-handed thunder hammer, and auto bolt rifle if you're an iron hands. Uh five new armor pieces, some black templar stuff, Mitch. I know you like how they look. Their armor set looks really, really cool. Uh tactical class rework, we're here sharing 2.2, and then the

42:45Tom:season passes paid for cosmetics. So um you get the Space Wolves Champions pack and the Exorcists Cosmetic Pack arrives.

42:54Hayden:Lots of cosmetics. I mean, it makes sense because this this game is all about like it's a good thing.

43:00Tom:They also announced a new class that's gonna come out um at the beginning of 2027. Okay.

43:06Hayden:It's not a not it's not that tech techno marine or whatever.

43:10Tom:No, the tech marine's already out. So the 2027 patches, they have three that they put out. So the apothecary class comes out.

43:17Hayden:Oh, they're like the priest, aren't they?

43:19Tom:Yeah, and like if Fall Marines like they'd like to take like their gene seed from and a new operation, the absolver bolt pistol, three heroic weapons and a heavy rework, Imperial Fist Champion Pack 2, and the Minotaur's cosmetic pack.

43:35Hayden:Have you seen uh the YouTube series called Space King? Uh it's uh from the people that did like the Harry Potter spoof. You're the Choserwhat, have you?

43:45Tom:Gone Harry, you're the Ches of What It's Levios.

43:48Hayden:Uh like those guys, they did the the this series, it's like every three months they'll put a thirty minute YouTube video out. And it's uh it's them spoofing Warhammer and They have an apothecary and their gene seed is basically just the testicles. So it's like we needed this.

44:08Tom:Yeah. I played last night and there's a good mix of like level up people. You got guys, you know, my level I was might think I'm like level 18. And then you guys, you know, 18, 19, 20, and then you know, a couple of like three fours and fives. So it seems like there's still a good mix of players, and I didn't wait to join a lobby.

44:26Hayden:Yeah, I remember like the networking was pretty rough at launch.

44:29Tom:So yeah, this time it was like bam, instant, and then the lobby went and filled right up. That's good. Like old school model were for two days. It's just like we're there, we're playing. And then running around playing. I mean, I was like, how do I play? I was like, okay, yeah, I got it. I was like, B is grenade. Stop pressing B. Because I was just throwing frag grenades like at myself. And like there was a couple times I played like five or six matches. I think there was two that you could hear people talking. Because even if you have like uh the communications like muted, you can still hear other players who are open mic'd or who aren't in a party. Because like some like we're fighting on there's there's a

45:03Tom:couple new maps I never even played because like I spawned, I took off, and I was like, Where am I? Where is this place? And I'm like just following the posse, and like we end up like choked up in a hallway on a bulwark, you know. We're like pinned in like this like corridor and stairs, and like we're firing down, and I plant the flag, and guys with shields going up, and some guys like, nice man! And then this other it's like it's like hold the line, like like some guy's like losing it, just like he's like in it to win it. Like he's got like VR goggles on and he's playing this, and like my shield thing's like about to go, and I'm like holding the shield, and I'm just getting like raked, and grenades are

45:34Tom:going off, and this heavy like walks next to me and like hits his like the bubble shield. Yeah, the bubble shield, and he's just like, I got you, buddy. I was like, Oh, thank god I need to heal. I was like, I'm I'm bleeding out, man.

45:49Hayden:It's getting real, sun's getting real low.

45:51Tom:I mean, I had a lot of fun playing it. I've always had fun playing Space Marines 2. I'll play some tonight.

45:57Mitch:I don't know if I'll be able to tonight, though. Yeah, you will.

45:59Tom:I'm not gonna be able to tonight. Yeah, you will. No.

46:02Mitch:Yeah, one of us has to be up at 4 a.m. Yeah.

46:04Tom:Yeah. See, my Xbox is at my house, and my kids and my wife are at my in-laws, and we're spending the night at my in-laws.

46:10Mitch:You do that a lot.

46:11Tom:Because they help take care of the children. Okay. And that and when you have two under two, you're fighting for your life.

46:17Mitch:Whose fault was that?

46:19Tom:Mine! There, you happy? I said it. It's mine.

46:22Mitch:My fault. Anyways, let's uh I have some trivia, but I want to talk to you about uh Activision taking over Halo.

46:29Tom:Yeah, we need to talk about it. It's big news.

46:32Hayden:It is big news.

46:33Tom:A lot of people So is there gonna be like a battle pass every season now? Do I gotta pay to win?

46:38Hayden:That's what a lot of people are worried about. It's got uh mixed reviews, I think people would say. A lot of people understand handing the keys to Halo uh to a new company because 343 or Halo Studios or whatever you want to call them, they they just they they drop the ball. Halo Infinite was fun for five minutes. Yeah, and then uh Halo campaign. Did we did we need that? No. And then like their their uh progression, their roadmap or whatever for the Halo games was Halo 2 remastered. Yeah, and then Halo 3 remastered, and people were just like, come on, you know, you're just remastering stuff we played 10, 12 years ago. Right. Well, like you know, honestly, when we played the campaign games uh for Halo Campaign, it was fun.

47:27Hayden:It just made me want to play the Master Chief Collection, and I did, and I had a lot more fun playing the Master Chief Collection.

47:33Tom:Um so Master Chief Collection Halo 2 remastered is art.

47:37Hayden:Yeah, that's a movie, and I was remastered already. So how many times can you remaster a game? Anyways, so them taking the the re-remaster, them them taking the keys away and giving it to Activision. I think it's smart if and I usually don't like uh publishers like having a death grip on companies so they can just kind of like go to town. But I think that Xbox has a pretty uh what's her name? Um the that uh the Ostie lady that's like the CEO of Xbox, she's not doing a lot of wrong. I think I think she's doing a lot of great movements. She fired a lot of Halo people, yeah. But I mean I can't blame her for it. Anyways, I think if she has like a really detailed set list of expectations of how the future of Halo is supposed to look and

48:25Hayden:then gives it to Activision, Activision knows that they have been given a golden goose because if you ask most people in the early days of Xbox which shooter reigns supreme, I think a lot of people would say Halo. Right?

48:43Tom:Depends on what year, but I think it's by and large, I think the early 2000s, 2000s to 2005.

48:49Hayden:I think from Halo 2 to Halo 3, that was the shooter everybody wanted, right? And uh yes, there's a lot of upcoming Call of Duty games that set the different tread for shooters that came out of that, but I think Halo has the nostalgia factor that people love. Like let's you can you can give story the premier futuristic shooter. You could give story to Halo any day. Call of Duty story sucks. I mean, let's be honest here.

49:14Mitch:Well, I mean, the stories they would be better if you didn't have to suspend disbelief and it's supposed to be modern, right?

49:21Tom:So original three modern warfares, that story that it made sense, it was real worldish. I did not have to suspend disbelief to be like, okay, this is what's going on.

49:33Hayden:It's a soap opera. So many people died and came back and all this other stuff. I don't know.

49:37Mitch:But with Activision taken with Activision Taken Over, like I don't know about multiplayer, how that'll work out, but I think Activision Taken Over, as long as they don't change the lore and just build from it, I don't think they'll be great.

49:48Hayden:I don't think they can afford to. I don't think I think that Xbox is smart. There's they're they're trying to create more of a niche market instead of just like how do we dominate the console wars. Right. I think there's more like, okay, what would people want to play?

50:02Tom:The console wars are I almost want to say it's over.

50:05Hayden:Yeah, PlayStation 1.

50:07Mitch:Uh I don't know.

50:08Hayden:Now Xbox nowadays, PlayStation's PlayStation's pissed an awful lot of people, but you look at PlayStation 5 sales compared to Xbox series sales, PlayStation 5.

50:18Tom:Which is weird because it wasn't the PS5 more expensive?

50:20Mitch:Well, I would say that Xbox kind of shot itself in the foot because you can get Game Pass on a computer now, so you don't have to buy an Xbox. unknown: Yeah.

50:28Hayden:With the Microsoft and what they're changing all that anyways. Yeah. But I think that if this uh this lady says, okay, Activision, make the new Halo game, no Game Pass, no like you know, you can do some DLCs, but like give the players what they want. An awesome campaign with you know new features, new gameplay mechanics that they've not seen before, but flow and feel nice, and then give them a multiplayer that everybody wants to play. I think if she if they do that, they're they're golden.

50:58Mitch:Now, as far as the game, or as far as the uh whatchallow, the uh battle pass, I don't mind that if you don't have to pay for it and you it's just something you progressively unlock stuff, then the more you play, the more you unlock. It's like hey, as long as you don't as long as you don't have to buy it.

51:12Tom:We'll see. If you is like the old school days, like playing Call of Duty, like if you played in God XP, you were getting promoted, you unlock these guns, right? Unlock this.

51:20Hayden:It's like you have to play to get there. Yeah, I'm down for that if it doesn't require like a subscription, right? Real money, yeah. And uh I I see a lot of games are shying away from that nowadays because it's not it's not a nobody wants to have a subscription to a video game. And I I I think a lot of people are learning that way too late, but we're getting there. A lot, what do they call it? A live service? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So uh we'll see what happens. We won't hear anything about this because like Activision still has to make their Call of Duty games.

51:53Mitch:Oh, yeah. I mean it's gonna take a while before anything comes out.

51:56Hayden:They said that they I did read a news article where Activision said that they could afford a dedicated team to building the next Halo game. Hopefully they take their time. Let them take four years to make a game and not just crank out a Halo game every year because that they're not gonna wait four years. I I hope they do. I hope they take their time. I'd be shocked if it's two years from now. I think the Halo audience is patient, you know, and I don't think it's gonna come out on this console. I think the next Halo game will launch with the next console.

52:24Tom:Whatever whatever they may be.

52:26Hayden:Yeah, so all right.

52:27Mitch:Well, real quickly, I have uh I have some trivia. And since I was talking about my game, which is a vampire game, this is vampire trivia over movies, TV, or games. Oh and I made it semi-easy because I figured y'all know less about vampires than you know me.

52:43Hayden:Okay. We'll let Tom go first.

52:45Mitch:Well, yeah, we'll do the the same way we've been doing it. Like we'll we'll alternate, and if he gets it wrong, you'll get a yes. Okay. Alright, so question one In The Lost Boys, it takes place in what California town? Uh there's a song about it. Sing it in the movie. Thou shall not want.

53:08Tom:San Francisco?

53:10No.

53:15Hayden:Uh what's uh whales vagina? What's that one? What? From Anchorman.

53:22Tom:That was his guess. Whales Vagina. From Anchorman. San Diego? San Diego. Oh, okay. Uh Pasadena. No. LA. No. Modesto.

53:32Mitch:Guess one more, if not all.

53:35Hayden:Uh Sacramento. I have an irony guess. Anaheim. No. One more guess. Sacramento.

53:41Mitch:No. Santa Clara.

53:42Hayden:Oh. Yeah.

53:43Mitch:Nobody gets that one. Number two. What is Blade's nickname?

53:48Hayden:Hayden. Oh, okay. Henry. Scissors. Razor. Slice.

53:55Mitch:It's in the movie. They call him adult movie.

53:56Hayden:I've never seen a Blade movie.

53:57Mitch:I've never seen a Blade movie. Oh.

53:59Hayden:I have. I just you don't think about it that hard.

54:02Mitch:It's kind of along the lines of the game that I was.

54:05Hayden:Oh, oh, the Daywalker.

54:07Tom:Okay. Daywalker. unknown: Yeah. Alright, number three. You get the good hint.

54:12Mitch:In Interview with a vampire. Who turns Louie into a vampire? Tom.

54:16Tom:Listat? Yes. That's the only name I know from that.

54:20Mitch:That's why I made it a little bit easier. Thank God. Number number four, Colin Robinson from What We Do in the Shadows is what kind of vampire?

54:28Hayden:Uh he's an emotional vampire. He eats people's like was it like work ethic or something like that?

54:36Mitch:Emotional. I'll give it to you if Tom doesn't get the exact thing.

54:40Hayden:I don't I don't know.

54:41Mitch:He's an energy vampire. But I'll give it to you. Emotional, yeah.

54:43Hayden:Everybody's he like says like somebody's got a bad case to the Mondays, and everybody's like, uh he just like.

55:03Mitch:They make fun of. I haven't seen this movie in 15 years. Cheech makes fun of it a good bit.

55:09I don't know. The the soggy drink.

55:14Mitch:No.

55:14What?

55:16Mitch:It's a strip club, basically, as well as a bar.

55:19Uh guess. The bloody boob.

55:26Tom:Close. Uh the bloody tit. Closer.

55:33I don't know what.

55:34Tom:The bloody breast?

55:35Mitch:The titty twister. Ah. Let's see. Number six. In the show The Vampire Diaries, Sal, name one of the two brothers that the whole thing is about. Just go to the next question. Luke. Did you guess a name?

55:51Hayden:Bill. Jason. I'm thinking of like what girls think men names should be. Ethan.

55:57Mitch:You're kinda on the right track.

55:59Hayden:Uh uh Franklin. Brett. Uh uh Cameron.

56:04Mitch:Close. Oh. Closer. Closer. Kind of close.

56:08Hayden:Oh, Heath.

56:26Mitch:No, it starts with an S. Simon. No.

56:31Tom:Simeon? No. Sephron. Stephen. Close? Stefan?

57:14Hayden:Alex. Albert.

57:16Mitch:It's a character from Rick and Morty. unknown: Oh.

57:19Hayden:Oh, Jerry.

57:20Mitch:Yes.

57:44Tom:Uh hot.

57:46Mitch:Yeah. I mean, oh sorry, yeah. Uh no, no, that's not it.

57:50Hayden:Um I know the werewolves are lichen throbes. Uh the vampires are like some Latin vampire term, aren't they? Blood walkers. They're called the death dealers.

58:06Mitch:Boo!

58:07Hayden:Sounds like a bad tequila shot.

58:09Mitch:Number 10. In the strain, the creatures were called what? This is a Latin term, or I guess old Romanian term. If either one of you can guess that.

59:19Hayden:Beauty and the Feast. Beauty and the Meat.

59:23Mitch:Along that line. And that could that kind of play on words.

59:28Tom:Give us the name of the Disney movie.

59:31Mitch:Give it away. Okay.

59:33Hayden:Is it Beauty and the Beast? No. Okay. I'm trying to think of their Disney movies.

59:38Mitch:A little more obscure ones, not your main princess movies.

59:42Hayden:Snow Blight.

59:44Mitch:Not the princess movies.

59:45Hayden:Oh, okay. I just want to see if y'all can guess this one.

1:00:22I would.

1:00:23Mitch:Like I remember there's one scene where, like, you know, handsome scarcar just like draped back in his like leathered, no shirt on in his chair. When they walk in. I was like, what the heck?

1:00:32Hayden:Mitch feeling feelings he doesn't want to feel.

1:00:36Mitch:I saw the first season and I was like, I'm done. It was so goofy. Like they had like a Louisiana accent and all this stuff. I was like, oh, I'm done. Uh let's see. Number 13. There's only 15 questions. In Nasferatu, what is the vampire's name?

1:00:51Hayden:Uh Olaf. Count Olaf. Count Orlock.

1:00:54Mitch:Orlock.

1:00:54Hayden:Orlock. unknown: Darn it.

1:00:55Mitch:Alright, Tom, you're only. Was that worth five points? You're only, what, four behind? Yeah.

1:02:42Hayden:Uh her name is Eliya Alathia. Aliah. I never saw the movie. She died in a plane crash.

1:02:50Mitch:She did. She haven't said her name.

1:02:53Hayden:It's like a Alanya or a light.

1:02:55Mitch:Close, yeah. She was a singer, but I'm pretty sure.

1:02:59She was a singer who died in a plane crash?

1:03:02Hayden:Aliyah. Alathea.

1:04:00Hayden:Darn it.

1:04:02Tom:I was like, who's the guy from Oingo Boiko?

1:04:06Hayden:Do we tie?

1:04:07Tom:Yeah.

1:04:09Hayden:After all the bonus. Since we tied, we get to pick what Mitch has to watch. I don't think you do.

1:04:15Mitch:We're just gonna use a bonus from my other trivia for the next episode.

1:04:18Alright, fine.

1:04:18Mitch:Alright. Uh let's see. What is the greatest extinction threat virus in the Resident Evil franchise?

1:05:04Tom:Of Destiny. No, Hayden could watch the punishment. He didn't watch.

1:05:08I did watch it.

1:05:09Tom:You don't even remember what it was.

1:05:10You're right.

1:05:16Mitch:He did land on Aiden, so. Good enough.

1:05:18Tom:He had to watch Citizen Vigilante. The second worst film of this year.

1:05:23Alright. Never heard of it. Do I have to buy it?

1:05:26Tom:A man takes justice into his own hands hunting down criminals.

1:05:30Do I have to buy it?

1:05:32Tom:I don't know.

1:05:34I don't like that.

1:05:35Tom:I think it was available.

1:05:37Oh! Well. Alright, well, there you go. We talked about what did we talk about? Video games. Video games. Video games.

1:05:43Tom:And then vampire trivia that you lost.

1:05:45Mitch:Well, considering it's October, we had to do something kind of horror themed.

1:05:49Hayden:To be fair, I kicked your butt in vampire trivia.

1:05:52Mitch:He did. But you happened to get lost. I wrote down five points before.

1:05:56Hayden:Tom just panic screamed letters until he got lost.

1:06:00Tom:Well, that was a different one, yeah. Bye. I can't hear you over here winning. For the Emperor.

1:06:09Mitch:I didn't have a tiebreaker for after the moment. Thank you. Fumble through that. Are the letters of the alphabet? Those are simple questions.
